Domaine Asmara is a boutique, family-owned winery and distillery nestled in the heart of the Heathcote wine region, Victoria. Founded by chemical engineer-turned-winemaker Andreas Greiving (with his partner Henni), the estate embodies a true labour of love, with a hands-on approach to every stage from vine to bottle .
Focusing on minimal intervention and letting "Mother Nature do its work," the team tends its vines mostly by hand in rich Cambrian soils, crafting a small but distinguished range of red and white varietals including Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Durif, Cabernet Franc, and Viognier.
The cellar door, open daily, offers free wine and spirits tastings, distillery tours, spirit classes like agave workshops, and a cozy bistro serving light lunches (Friday–Monday). Domaine Asmara’s wines have earned a stellar reputation garnering numerous gold medals and trophies, attaining a 5‑star rating in the James Halliday Wine Companion, and even being named one of Australia’s Top 10 New Wineries .
